Set Up Our Rescued Labs for Success

Driven by our mission to set up each of our rescued Labs for success as they settle in to their forever homes, Lab Rescue LRCP provides comprehensive, appropriate medical care to each dog that comes into our care. Labrador Retrievers are the quintessential example of an inquisitive, active, high-energy breed, with their entire physical and mental makeup geared toward activity.  As we know, many Labs love to engage in a variety of outdoor activities and mischief - playing bitey face and doing
zoomies with their buddies, lounging in the grass, bouncing through fields,
splashing in creeks, mucking in mud, and eating who-knows-what!

We love it when our sweet pups are happy and getting exercise, but their natural tendencies can expose them to pests, parasites, viruses, bacteria and injuries. We strive to provide preventive and curative care to keep them safe and as healthy-as-can-be while they have their fun, both to make them comfortable while in foster care and to give them a good start with their adoptive families.  

The reality is that this level of care is expensive, with the average cost of $1,500 for each dog rescued. Could we eliminate a couple of the vaccinations and defer certain curative care? Of course we could, but Lab Rescue believes in saying “yes” to Labs with an opportunity to be the best dog that they can be. Acting on this belief requires providing quality medical care to help each Lab be as healthy as it can be.

Lab Rescue LRCP is on track to save almost 700 Labs this year, an increase of ~20%.
